The star has handed over the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which works to save the United Kingdom's grassroots concert spaces.

The star was awarded the prize on mid-October as his third album the album was named the outstanding release of the previous year.

He has decided to hand the money over to the trust, in acknowledgment of the vital role grassroots venues played in his early career.

"I couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the performances I did around the North East, and further afield, when I was beginning," remarked Sam Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the total UK scene.

In the last year, top acts such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its attempts to support the industry, by adding a modest fee to their ticket prices, which supports local stages.

He also took part, collecting over £100k on his live tour to support 38 grassroots venues across the UK.

The donation assisted locations that were facing potential shutdown due to issues stemming from flooding, blazes and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and noise complaints.

Other venues were granted monetary aid in upgrading amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.

"The concept that funds from shows in large arenas helps the smaller venues, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," the star has stated.

Also 1994 winners they donated their prize to a MS organization after a friend was found to have the condition.

"The victory was ample," said artist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't require the extra, because we had the honor. So our winning affected the lives of others."

Recently, the trust announced it had saved a couple of local spots in that region, by placing them under community ownership.
